Nebraska on its own, with strong shaded relief and no labels. The dark version has the most contrast. The light version uses far less ink on a home printer.

The physical geography of Nebraska

Nebraska rises from about 840 feet at the Missouri River to more than 5,400 feet in the west. The east is rolling farmland shaped by glaciers. The Sand Hills, a huge region of grass-covered dunes, fill the north-central part. The west is High Plains, with the rugged Pine Ridge and Wildcat Hills in the Panhandle. Panorama Point, the highest spot, is a gentle rise near the Wyoming and Colorado borders. The Platte River crosses the whole state from west to east.

Every Nebraska physical map on this page was rendered from NASA SRTM 30-meter elevation data, with hydrography from Natural Earth and the shoreline-clipped state outline from the US Census Bureau. Each map is colored over that state’s own elevation range, and the relief shading is exaggerated so gentle terrain still shows.
