Each skill has a one-page chart to read together, then passages that practice it.
Every printable is three pages. Page 1 is a short passage in large type with numbered paragraphs and one picture. Page 2 is five or six questions, some to circle and some to write. Page 3 is the answer key.
A crayon beside a question asks for proof: the child goes back to the passage and underlines the sentence that shows the answer, in that crayon's color. The color word is printed on the crayon, so the sheets work in black and white. The answer key quotes the same sentence.
Each passage practices one skill, and each skill starts with a chart that explains it. If your child is still learning to sound out words, start with the decodable readers. All of it is free to print for a classroom or a homeschool.
