Start with the helpers children have met: the doctor, the mail carrier, the teacher. Read Who Helps Us? together, then match each helper to the thing they use. First and second graders can read the Who Am I riddles on their own. Finish with When I Grow Up, where each child draws the helper they would like to be.
The coloring pages show one helper big, with the word to trace and one sentence to read, so they double as early reading practice.
