The whole unit in one place: all 10 Needs and Wants worksheets in one print-ready file with every answer key, and the What Do I Need? reader in both editions, kindergarten and grades 1-2 (the grades 1-2 book has fuller sentences on every page).
Only in the pack:
All About Me, My Family, Where I Live, Map Skills, Community Helpers, Landforms, Good Citizens, and all topics on the social studies page.
A need is something we must have to live: food, water, a home and clothes. A want is something nice to have, like a toy or a treat. Start with the free What Do I Need? book: Meg the polar bear cub names her needs, then sees a red kite she wants and saves her coins for it.
Then let children sort the picture cards under Needs and Wants and talk about the hard ones. Kindergarten children can circle the needs on the Circle the Needs page; first and second graders can go on to goods and services (things we buy and work people do for us) and to producers, the people who make or grow what we use.
