Questions
How many countries are in Europe?
This quiz asks 47: the countries of Europe, including Russia and Turkey, which cross into Asia, and Cyprus, which is in the European Union. Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are shown in grey and not asked; they are usually counted with Asia.
Why is Kosovo in the quiz?
The quiz asks where places are on the map, not whether every country recognises them. Kosovo is on most classroom maps of Europe, so it is asked like any other place.
Is Czechia the same as the Czech Republic?
Yes. Czechia is the short name the country uses; the Czech Republic is the full name. North Macedonia was called Macedonia until 2019.
How is the score worked out?
Your score is the share of countries you found on the first try. A country you find on the second or third try turns amber and does not count toward the score; after three misses it turns red and the quiz moves on.
Can my class use this?
Yes, free, with no sign-up and no ads. At the end, students type their name and take a screenshot of the result card (map, score, time and date) to hand in.
