Questions
Is Washington, D.C. in the quiz?
No. D.C. is the capital of the United States, not of a state, so the quiz asks the 50 state capitals only.
Which capitals do people mix up most?
The ones that are not the biggest city in their state: Albany (not New York City), Sacramento (not Los Angeles), Springfield (not Chicago), Harrisburg (not Philadelphia), Tallahassee (not Miami) and Olympia (not Seattle).
How is the score worked out?
Your score is the share of places you found on the first try. A place you find on the second or third try turns amber and does not count toward the score; after three misses it turns red and the quiz moves on.
The small states are hard to click. What can I do?
Rhode Island and Delaware have a circle around them: click anywhere inside the circle. Use the + button (or pinch on a phone) to zoom in on the Northeast, and drag to move around.
Can my class use this?
Yes, free, with no sign-up and no ads. At the end, students type their name and take a screenshot of the result card (map, score, time and date) to hand in.
