Jake's Long Hike
Jake liked to hike. "It is time to go up the hill," he said. He got his bag and a plum for a snack. Jake and his dog, Dot, wanted to walk!
The path was wide and hot. Jake wanted to hide from the sun. "We must find shade," Jake said to Dot. Dot gave a hot huff. She wanted to dive in a cold pond.
They went to the far side of the hill. At last, Jake saw a tall pine. "This is a fine spot," Jake said. He sat down and took a bite of his plum. Dot rested on the green grass. Jake had a big smile. It was a good hike.
