Kate's Jump Rope
Kate woke up at home. She had one big hope for the day. She wanted to jump rope. Kate set up a jump zone on the flat grass. She got her long rope.
But Dot the dog put her nose into the zone. Dot bit the rope and ran. She hid in a big hole. "Drop the rope, Dot," Kate said. "This is not a joke!"
Dot did not drop it. She felt glad in her new role in the game. Kate went home to find a good trade. She got a big bone.
Kate held out the bone. Dot got a whiff of the bone with her wet nose. She rose from the hole and let go of the rope. "Good dog," said Kate. She gave Dot the bone and went back to jump rope.
