1Jake woke up and went out of his home. He wanted to wash the wet mud off his red bike.

3But the hose had a bad rip in it. It was a huge hole! Cold drops shot up.

4They hit Jake right on the nose. "Is this a joke?" Jake yelled. He dropped the hose in the mud.

5His bike was still a mess, and he was very wet. He had no hope of fixing the bad hose.

6Just then, his mom came out. She had a thick strip of black tape. "I can fix this," she said.

About This Decodable Reader

“Jake's Bad Hose” is a free printable decodable reader designed for 1st grade students practicing silent e — long o phonics patterns.
