Blake's Red Cape

Silent E — Long A 1st Grade Long Vowels & Silent E
Blake's Red Cape

Blake wanted to make a red cape. He needed it for a fun game of tag. "I will be brave and fast," said Blake. He went to get some red cloth.

He found some red cloth, but it had a bad rip in it. "I must fix this fast," said Blake. "I can not be late for the game!"

Blake got some thick tape. He put a long strip of tape on the cape to mend the rip. Then he got a pen and made a black shape on the tape. It was like a bat! His dad came in. "That is a fine cape," his dad said.

Blake ran out to play the game. The cape felt safe and snug on his neck.
