Stan and the Wave
Stan had a plan for a fun game. He went down to the lake with his dog, Gus.
"We will make a base in the sand," Stan said. "It will be a safe spot for our game."
Stan made a tall base in the damp sand. Gus sat on the sand to look at it. But then a huge wave came up the bank! Crash! The wave hit the base. The wet sand fell flat.
"We can find a new base," Stan said.
Stan took Gus up the path. They saw a red gate by a big log.
"We can run a race," Stan said. "The gate is the safe base!"
Gus gave a glad jump and ran. He got to the gate first. Gus was glad to win the game!
