The packet has 16 math sheets, 16 reading sheets and 8 writing and fun sheets. The math is March in a 1st grade year: time to the half hour, comparing and ordering lengths, measuring with units, and tally charts and picture graphs, with facts within 20, missing numbers, number bonds, color by sum, story problems, skip counting and a review of adding and taking away tens.
The reading is ew and ue (flew, glue), ar (star), or (horn) and er, ir and ur (ladder, bird, nurse): words to read, spell, cut and glue, four short stories, facts about kites, a sentence to build and the month's heart words to map. The writing sheets are fix the sentence, proper and common nouns, a pot of gold wish, a how-to, a kite to design, spring things to label, a lion-or-lamb page and a spot-the-changes picture.
The sheets follow the March weeks of our 1st grade plan. The stories use only the spellings taught by then and the heart words of the year so far, so a child can read them without guessing. Facts stay within 20, and measuring uses whole units laid end to end.
Every sheet stands on its own, so use them in any order: morning work, a center, a sub folder, homework or a rainy afternoon. A few are cut-and-glue sheets, which need scissors and a glue stick.
