Pat the cat had a red mat. He liked his mat a lot. But one day, a rat ran by. The rat saw the mat. Zip! The rat ran off with Pat's mat! "That is my mat!" Pat said. Pat ran after the rat. The rat was fast. It ran past a man. Pat ran past the man too. The rat sat on the mat. Pat gave a big hiss. The rat ran off fast — but it did not have the mat! Pat got his mat back. He sat on his mat in the sun. "My mat," said Pat. He was one good cat.
