Scott had a pen and a pad. He ran to the pond to quiz the ducks for his class blog. He squatted by the ducks.
"Do you like the pond?" said Scott.
"Quack! Quack! Quack!" All the ducks quacked at once.
He could not tell what they said.
"This is a mess," he said. But Scott did not quit. He had a plan.
"One duck at a time," said Scott. "Quack one time for yes. Quack two times for no."
A big duck stepped up.
"Do you like the pond?" said Scott.
"Quack!" Yes!
"Do you like the cold?"
"Quack, quack!" No!
Then a little duck stepped up. "Do you like bugs?" said Scott.
"Quack!" Yes!
Scott was quick with his pen. The other ducks stepped up, one at a time. At last, his pad was full.
"Thank you, ducks!" said Scott.
"Quack!" said the ducks.

A new decodable story with the same qu sounds — each comes with its own set of worksheets. Then the next skill: Endings -NG and -NK.
These free qu worksheets provide structured phonics practice for QU (the letters q and u together say /kw/). Activities include a decodable passage embedding target words in a fun story, a word sort that separates words starting with qu from words with qu inside, phrasing practice cards for fluency building, and a rapid naming (RAN) chart for automaticity. Each worksheet prints cleanly on standard US Letter paper.
