Cut out eight pictures, such as the moon, a kite and an owl, and glue each under day or night.
Download PDFThe days of the week and the months of the year are not on the kindergarten math list, but every kindergarten room works on them, usually at a calendar time each morning. They teach order and the idea that time repeats: after Saturday the week starts again.
Start with the two charts. Say the days in order every morning, and point to today. The months chart has a picture for each month's weather or season, with no holidays, so it works anywhere in the United States.
Days in Order is cut and paste: Sunday is already in place, and the child glues the other six after it. Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow uses the days at the top of the page as a word bank, so the child copies the day rather than spelling it. One row starts on Saturday, so tomorrow wraps around to Sunday.
Day or Night? sorts eight pictures that nobody argues about, such as the sun, the moon, an owl and a kite. Every worksheet has an answer key on its second page. For telling time on a clock, see the telling time worksheets, and the rest of the year is on the kindergarten math page.
