1st Grade February Worksheets
Math, reading and writing sheets for February with Valentine's Day, the 100th day of school and Groundhog Day: hearts, cards, cupcakes and a groundhog. Print-and-go, black and white, with answer keys. 8 sheets are free, and the full packet of 40 is $5.
What is in the February packet
The packet has 16 math sheets, 16 reading sheets and 8 writing and fun sheets. The math is February in a 1st grade year: adding tens, adding a two-digit and a one-digit number, subtracting tens and time to the hour, with facts within 20, missing numbers, fact families, color by sum, story problems, counting to 100 by 2s, 5s and 10s and measuring to keep them going.
The reading is oa and ow (goat, crow), igh and ie (night, pie), a review of every vowel team so far and oo (moon, book): words to read, spell, cut and glue, three short stories, facts about groundhogs, a sentence to build and the month's heart words to map. The writing sheets are fix the sentence, one or more than one, a valentine to design, a how-to, Valentine things to label, a love note, a 100th day page and a spot-the-changes picture.
What level it is
The sheets follow the February weeks of our 1st grade plan. The stories use only the spellings taught by then and the heart words of the year so far, so a child can read them without guessing. Facts stay within 20, and the adding and taking away of tens stays within 100.
How to use it
Every sheet stands on its own, so use them in any order: morning work, a center, a sub folder, homework or the week of Valentine's Day. A few are cut-and-glue sheets, which need scissors and a glue stick.
