Scott sat at his desk for a long time. He wanted to transform his toy robot. Right now, it was just a dull box that did nothing. Scott planned to put a new chip inside it. He wanted to make it walk around the room. First, he turned on his laptop to look on the internet for the right code.
Scott found the code on a neat site. He began to transfer the file to his laptop. Just then, a loud noise made him jump up from his chair. It was his brother out in the hall. "Scott, come down for lunch!" yelled his brother Wade. The loud yell did interrupt his work. The laptop froze on a blank page.
"Do not interfere with my work!" Scott shouted back. "I am trying to transmit code to my robot!" He pressed a button to start the transfer again. Soon, the file finished. Scott put a plug from the robot into his laptop. He watched the laptop transcribe the new code onto the robot's chip.
"Now we will see if it works," Scott said to himself. He picked up the heavy robot to transport it. He carried it out of his room and walked down the hall. He set it down in the middle of the hall. This was a flat place for a test.
Scott pressed a small button. The robot's eyes lit up and began to glow. The new chip flashed behind its transparent chest. The robot took one step, then another step. It did not just stand still. It began to march!
Wade came up the stairs to check on him. "Wow, that is so cool!" Wade said. "Can I play with it?" Scott smiled at his brother. "Yes, we can both interact with it," he said. Wade held out a red wooden block. The robot stopped to look at the block. It was so amazing to see Wade and the new robot play together.
"It is like you can transform a dull box into a fun toy," Wade said. Scott grinned and gave his brother a high five. His plan was a good one. He had made a perfect robot pal.
