The whole unit in one place: all 14 Life Cycle of a Chicken worksheets in one print-ready file with every answer key, and the From Egg to Hen reader in both editions, kindergarten and grades 1-2 (the grades 1-2 book has fuller sentences on every page).
Only in the pack:
Living and Nonliving, Plant Life Cycle, Animals, Weather and Seasons, Solid, Liquid and Gas, Dinosaurs, Pumpkins and Apples, and all topics on the K-2 science page.
Read the free From Egg to Hen book first. Hope the pony finds eggs in a nest, watches the hen keep them warm, and sees a chick peck its way out and grow into a hen. Each page shows one stage; the grades 1-2 book adds how long each stage takes.
Then color the life cycle together and say each stage aloud: egg, hatching chick, chick, hen, and back to the egg. The cut-and-paste page checks that children can put the stages in order on their own. If your class is hatching eggs, the 21 Days to Hatch chart in the pack counts down the days.
Farm Babies matches the chick to the hen and four other babies to their mothers. Who Hatches from an Egg? widens the idea: ducks, turtles and frogs hatch from eggs too, while dogs, cows, horses and cats do not. For older students, see the butterfly and frog life cycles in the science section.
