Pip's Lost Bat

Pip the pig had a red bat. The sun was hot, and he had to go. But his red bat was not on his bed. It was not on the red rug. Where was his bat?

Pip had a sad sob. Then he got a big tip. His dog, Gus!

Gus sat on a big log. "Gus," said Pip. "Can I sit on the log?"

Gus did not get up. Gus had a big nod.

Pip ran to Gus. "My bat!" said Pip. Gus sat on his red bat. Pip had a tug. Gus got up, and Pip got his bat.

"Gus," said Pip. "Let's go hit a tin can!"
