3Ned sat on a chair and stared at the rip. "I can not go to the fair like this," he said. "I do not have a spare."
Ned's Red Patch, page 4
4Jane came by to walk with him. She saw his sad face. "Let me take a look," said Jane. "I think I can repair it."

5Jane found an old red cloth in her bag. She cut a square patch with care. Then she put the patch over the rip.
Ned's Red Patch, page 6
6Ned held up the vest. The red square looked like a little flag. "I like it even more than before!" said Ned.
Ned's Red Patch, page 7
7At the fair, Ned and Jane shared a pear and played games. Lots of kids stopped to stare at the vest.
Ned's Red Patch, page 8
8"Where did you get it?" asked a fox. "I adore that red patch!" Ned grinned at Jane. His best vest was even better now.
