The packet has 16 math sheets, 16 reading sheets and 8 writing and fun sheets. The math is adding and subtracting within 20, fact families, number bonds, missing numbers, tens and ones, comparing two-digit numbers, counting to 120, skip counting, ten more and ten less, time to the hour and half hour, a tally chart, story problems, halves and fourths, and measuring with a row of nuts.
The reading is words with blends and digraphs (sh, ch and th), sound boxes, rhymes, a first look at silent e, sight words, two short texts with questions, sentences to build and to match, ABC order and sorting nouns. The writing sheets are fix the sentence, a how-to, an opinion and an "I am thankful" page, with a turkey to label, a word search, a spot-the-changes picture and a calendar.
Skills are set for the third month of first grade. The words a child reads alone are short-vowel words with blends and digraphs, such as nest, shed and stump, and common sight words. Math facts stay within 20.
Every sheet stands on its own, so use them in any order: morning work, a center, a sub folder, homework or a quiet half hour at home. A few are cut-and-glue sheets, which need scissors and a glue stick.
