Beth's Stolen Chip

Beth had a chunk of a rich chip. She felt good. She ran to a bench to munch her chip. Then, a chick ran to her. “Oh, no!” Beth said. “My chip!” The chick caught the chip. Which way did it go?

The chick ran to a ditch. Beth ran to the ditch. “Come back, little chick!” she said. Beth did not want to jump in the ditch. She had a plan. She saw a stick. Beth got the stick to fetch her chip. She had to tap the chick. It ran back to her. Beth felt good. She sat on the bench to munch her chip.
